LOST CITY FOUND UNDERWATER IN CHINA

Qiandao Lake is a man-made lake located in Chun’an County, China, where archeologists have discovered in 2001 ruins of an underwater city. The city is at a depth of 26-40 meters and was named “Lion City”. There would have been 290 000 people living in this city during more than 1300 years. Touristic expeditions are projected.

Shakespeare’s Deaths and Murders infographic, by Caitlin Griffin at Drown My Books.

This was sent to me this afternoon by my former English Lit. tutor. File under: classroom wall displays.

I was always told that a Shakespearean tragedy basically boils down to “Everyone stab the person to your left.” This is a little more precise.

Almost as bad as John Green

Actually there’s some science behind this.  The synchronising of movements is a manifestation of old Hive Mind instincts (the thing that makes schools of fish swim together, swarms swarm, and flocks flock).  In modern humans it’s denotative of a close bond and, interestingly, is an early sign of whether a romantic relationship will work - so that hippy line about being on ‘the same wave length’ isn’t as ridiculous as it sounds.
